The AEK-97 is a non-canon, full-auto assault rifle featured in some fanon maps.
Remember When...[]
The AEK-971 appears in the Remember When... storyline. It has a moderately fast firing rate, high penetration and moderate recoil. This weapon is one out of eleven assault rifles in the storyline. It has good damage, which is good for medium rounds and it is one of the most powerful assault rifles. This weapon has a large ammo conserve of ten mags in reserve and one already in the weapon, which totals the ammunition to 330 rounds. It is only obtainable from the Mystery Box.
Effectiveness[]
The AEK-971 is a great weapon to keep because of its high damage. It has a one-kill up until Round 6, but it is still effective afterwards. Because this weapon sustains automatic fire and generates moderate recoil, it is recommended to fire in bursts because it increases the AEK-971's accuracy and conserves its ammo. Since this weapon has high penetration, it can easily kill zombies through wood, plaster, metal and stone walls, though shooting through walls is still not recommended as it takes more shots to kill zombies. This weapon should be pack-a-punched by Round 15.
Pack-a-Punched Variant[]
When Pap'ed, the AEK-971 becomes the Tasmanian Devil. After it is upgraded, its damage increses to 375-450 and its magazine size increases from 30 rounds to 45 rounds. Its reserve ammo also increases to 450 rounds. This weapon gains a GP-30 grenade launcher that has more explosive damage than a normal GP-30. This weapon should be traded for a Wonder Weapon by about Round 28.
