The Aether is an interdimensional dominion that serves as the nexus point for all realms that exist across the Nexus. It is the homeland of the Aetherians, who safeguard the Aether and its massive repository of otherworldly energy.
Design[]
The Aether is a vast realm that consists of several floating landmasses scattered all around. Overhead the realm is an eternal purple and pink night sky, with various stars and a moon being visible. Each of the landmasses contain various old-fashioned structures and are connected to one another via a physical bridge and a teleportation system. At the highest peak of the Aether is a mysterious castle that houses the Chamber of Waking in its cellars.
At the center of the Aether is a large landmass that serves as the central HUB of the Aether, where all of the individual teleporter locations on the other landmasses funnel to. At the very center of the landmass is a massive teleportation device, which when activated will open a gateway to any realm that the user selects. This gateway is adorned with various zodiac symbols around the portal's frame, and will all light up when the portal is active.
Below the floating landmasses is an endless sea of vast Aetherial energy, which can be remotely siphoned from the Aether from various external access points, such as the MPD, or be directly channeled by beings of Aetherian origin. Amidst the sea of Aetherial energy are inverted, regenerative stalactites of raw Unistone, which the Aetherians have mined to create their technologies and infrastructure. This layer is entirely concealed by an overhead layer of condensed clouds.
