Authentication Required is a minor easter egg featured in The Last Sabbath. It involves gaining access to the Black Hawk Military Base's armoury, that is locked by a retinal scanner, by finding the body of a higher ranking soldier.
Walkthrough[]
To begin the easter egg, a player must first try to buy the door, which will not open or deduct any points. Banzuke will then realise that the armoury is protected by a retinal scanner, and that to gain clearance, they'll need to find a higher ranking soldier.
Step 1[]
- “We need to find someone with access to this room. Let's look at some security footage, see if we can find anyone.”

After attempting to open the door, the player needs to get to the security room. When there, the player should use the action button on the security console, which will play footage of an unknown shoulder getting caught by zombies.
Step 2[]
- “That soldier has entered the armoury before, we need to find him.”
- ―Banzuke, after seeing the footage.
After watching the footage, the player needs to find the body of the soldier. It is likely that the player has passed him at least once before beginning the easter egg, as his body is out in the open. After finding the body, the player needs to pick it up, which will stop them from using any weapons. While the body can be dropped and picked back up, it is best to have single zombie or crawler saved.

After bringing the body back to the armoury door, the player will scan the dead soldier's eyes with the retinal scanner. The armoury door will be unlocked, and the player is now free to enter it. This will allow the player to buy Mule Kick and Buckshot Mines.
