Battlegates are a feature introduced in The Final Chapter saga of the Roach Chronicles. They are dark portals formed of surging negative powers, and harbor powerful Unversed within them.

In order to unlock a battlegate within the playable maps found within The Final Chapter saga, the player must complete a list of objectives given to the player at the start of the match. While the objectives will change depending on the map, the one objective that will be present on all maps is to open all areas of each map.
Once all of the objectives are completed, a battlegate will form in a certain area of the map. All players must interact with the battlegate at least once after it appears, and once every player has interacted with it, they will be brought to a normally inaccessible area of the map, where they will fight against a powerful Unversed that serves as the map's boss. Defeating the Unversed contained within a battlegate will play the outro cinematic of that map.
Once the player has completed all of the battlegates on each map, a new one will appear in the map Ascendance, and will transport players to the final battle of the saga.
