Catbeasts started out as a single cat, Checkers, who was Samantha's pet cat before she recieved her dog Fluffy. One day, Doctors Maxis and Richtofen took Checkers away and put her in the teleporter. When she teleported, she recieved a similar fate as Fluffy, except, she was "cloned" during the teleportation, creating Catbeasts. Maxis lied to Samantha about Checkers and said that she ran away.
Catbeasts appear every six rounds, right after a Hellhound round. They spawn in an explosion of fire, similar to the Hellhound and Space Monkeys spawns. They are bigger, stronger and more intelligent than Hellhounds as they know how to attack in packs. Once a Catbeasts spots a player, it will run away and bring more Catbeasts to attack the player, so it is recommended for all of the players to be in one area. Catbeasts can also attack and destroy perk machine, however, the players can repair the perk machine via a wrench and drill.
