Danielle "Dani" Greer, callsign Rhythm, is a music-centric member of Techno. She is the second-in-command of the group's Tech Agents led by Victor "Stratus" Payton.

After her recruitment in 2142, Rhythm worked with the rest of Techno to help safeguard Paradise Island from crime. In 2143 however, the heroes found themselves under threat by a mysterious undead scourge, prompting Rhythm and the others to try and evacuate as many civilians as they could from the island. Despite escaping, Rhythm and the other survivors were ultimately killed when their entire universe was destroyed by an F-Space Energy explosion.

Fortunately, Rhythm's universe was restored due to the efforts of The Son, though its history was slightly altered by the removal of all F-Space Energy just before the start of the outbreak, preventing it from ever happening. With the loss of F-Space Energy, Techno's parent company, the Mirage Corporation, was forced into bankruptcy and bought out by Atlas International, who relocated Rhythm and the rest of Techno to Midnight City to operate as a P.A.R.A.D.O.X. counter-terrorism unit.

Two years later in 2145, Rhythm partook in a mission to capture Allison "Nightstalker" Texas to uncover her connection with the mysterious Twilight Collective. However, Nightstalker's capture was exploited by the Twilight Collective, who used the opportunity to attack Atlas Tower in an attempt to wipe out Atlas' best forces in one fell swoop and usher in the start of their uprising. Rhythm managed to successfully escape the tower with the others, temporarily relocating back to Paradise Island afterward.

Two months after the attack on Atlas Tower, Rhythm and the rest of the newly-formed Megacorporation Global Alliance made preparations to lure the Twilight Collective and its leaders to Paradise Island with the help of Sophia and The Four Apparitions. With their combined efforts, Rhythm and the others managed to successfully goad the Twilight Collective into attacking the island before sealing them within the Central Vault's pocket dimension, thus ending the uprising and bringing forth a new era peace to the world.

Early Life[]

Danielle Greer was born in New Elpis on March 17th, 2120. In her youth, Danielle was deeply fascinated by the concept of technology and music, often listening to various video game soundtracks and techno music while doing schoolwork. In June 2138, Danielle graduated from high school, though she remained undecided as to what kind of career she wanted to pursue. After turning 21, Danielle began to frequently hang out at the New Elpis Nightclub.^[2]

Joining Techno[]

In 2142, Danielle met and befriended Victor Payton, the Tech Agent Lead of Techno with the callsign Stratus. The two spent a night together at the nightclub hanging out, chatting about the Mirage Corporation's advanced technologies created with F-Space Energy and what music meant to both of them. Stratus saw potential in Danielle as they bonded, and by the end of the night, he decided to offer her a job as a member of Techno, which Danielle accepted.

As a member of Techno, Danielle adopted the callsign Rhythm, derived from her love of music. She became a Tech Agent, operating under Stratus' command and assisting him in the development of new technologies for the organization while also creating her own music and gadgets in her free time, including her signature blaster, the Beat Drop. Before long, Rhythm rose to become Stratus' second-in-command and most trusted ally outside of the other senior members.^[2]

Zombie Outbreak[]

On the morning of August 25th, 2143, Rhythm was en route to Techno Headquarters when the city of New Elpis was suddenly attacked by raw F-Space Energy zombies under Blackout's command. Rhythm made haste to the New Elpis Nightclub close by, fighting against a few zombies with her blaster in an effort to evacuate as many survivors from the building as she could. Ultimately, Rhythm was forced to abandon the nightclub with her fellow survivors, retreating to the survivor stronghold at Hypercenter Mall, where Rhythm reunited with the senior Techno members.

Rhythm was soon tasked by Stratus to assist in tending to the civilian survivors while he worked to establish communications with outside help. When the undead breached the mall after the main power grid was knocked offline, Rhythm helped escort the civilians to the roof to await extraction by the Atlas Security Service. The survivors successfully held out long enough for the Atlas teams to arrive, and Rhythm left the city with them while the senior Techno members left to find Nakata Hayashi and stop Blackout.

Despite fleeing Paradise Island, the survivors' attempt to escape ultimately proved futile, as on the following morning, an F-Space Energy explosion originating from the Central Vault completely decimated the entirety of Earth-52319, killing all of its inhabitants, including Rhythm.^[1]

Restoration[]

Fortunately for Rhythm and the rest of Earth-52319's doomed inhabitants, the days leading up to the destruction of their universe would be contained within a Timeline Loop by The Son, who tasked replicant variants of Techno's Inner Circle Heads to enter the loop to change the outcome of the future within it. The variants succeeded in their mission by ensuring Blackout fulfilled his duties, allowing The Son to use the now stabilized loop as a universal foundation to restore Earth-52319 and change the grim future that would have originally played out. To ensure this future did not repeat itself, all F-Space Energy in the universe was removed from existence as a result of Blackout's success in the loop that now served as the foundation for the new history.^[3]

On September 15th, 2143, due to the sudden removal of all F-Space Energy, the Mirage Corporation went bankrupt and all of its assets were acquired by Atlas International, including Techno, which was redesignated as a P.A.R.A.D.O.X. counter-terrorism task force. As a result, Rhythm and her fellow teammates were reassigned to operate in Midnight City. Before leaving Paradise Island, Rhythm returned to the New Elpis Nightclub one last time to hang out and bid everyone farewell, thanking them for their hospitality.

By November 10th, Rhythm and her fellow Techno operatives had relocated to Techno Tower in the Los Angeles District of Midnight City. On November 13th, after settling in to her custom suite, Rhythm went to explore the tower, passing by senior member Roxanne Summers and her new friend Abigail-Ignotus as they moved Rox's stuff to her suite directly adjacent to Rhythm's. Rhythm later learned that Abigail-Ignotus joined Techno with the callsign Soteria and adopted the legal name "Paige Bishop" for herself.^[4]

Techno Wedding[]

In July 2144, Rhythm was in attendance at Rox and Paige's wedding, providing music for the party.^[2]

Twilight Collective Uprising[]

Investigating the Rogue Ghosts[]

On March 4th, 2145, following a failed raid at Crimson Syndicate Headquarters, Rhythm was summoned to Atlas Tower in the Central District to link up with a Techno strike team as they prepared for an operation to investigate the Rogue Ghosts in Hearst Harbor and uncover their connection with the mysterious Twilight Collective. That evening, Rhythm and the team were smuggled into the Rogue Ghosts Hideout by Tsuki, where they managed to successfully ambush the Rogue Ghosts in a firefight.

Together, Rhythm and the others managed to fight their way through the Rogue Ghosts, cornering their leader Allison "Nightstalker" Texas. Rhythm listened as Nightstalker cryptically remarked that their actions were a "grave mistake" before she was subdued by Tsuki. The team then managed to get outside of the building with Nightstalker as their prisoner, where they were extracted from the area by Gideon after holding out against Nightstalker's reinforcements.^[5]

The Uprising[]

Soon after the operation, Rhythm returned to Atlas Tower with the others, where she monitored Nightstalker's interrogation from an adjacent room. However, at the stroke of midnight, the tower was suddenly attacked by the Twilight Collective, who managed to hack into Atlas' systems and deactivate the building's defenses. Techno then divided into three smaller strike teams in order to avoid being pinned down together and clear out as much of the building as they could before linking back up at the tower's aircraft hangar, with Rhythm comprising Team Three along with Stratus, Envoy and Phantom.

After fighting through several waves of Twilight Collective operatives, Rhythm and the rest of her team successfully linked up with Gideon, Melissa Anders, the Atlas Council, Tsuki, the captive Nightstalker and the other Techno teams in the hangar, where she learned from Tsuki that her father Doctor Dave Herd was killed in the attack. With Twilight Collective forces en route to their position, the group began boarding an executive VTOL aircraft to escape, though as Jennifer "Vega" Reese struggled to get Nightstalker on board, the room was breached by the Twilight Collective.

In the ensuing chaos, Vega was shot in the back and wounded by Twilight Collective field commander Marshal Wolfe while Nightstalker managed to break free from her grasp and escape just as the aircraft took off. While Stratus had the pilot plot a course to Techno Tower, Rhythm got in contact with Samantha "Pulse" Reed to inform her of Vega's condition. Rhythm then watched a broadcast sent out by Marshal using Atlas' systems to usher his forces to rise up from the shadows to fight Atlas and the rest of the world's megacorporations, sparking the Twilight Collective Uprising.^[5]

Resisting the Twilight Collective[]

Return to Paradise Island[]

With many other megacorporation territories also falling under siege by the Twilight Collective within a matter of days, several high-ranking members from each megacorporation and a handful of their best soldiers were sent to find refuge on Paradise Island, using its remote location to their advantage to isolate themselves from the collective and form the beginnings of the Megacorporation Global Alliance. Rhythm was among several Techno operatives who were sent to Paradise Island to assist in the island's defense, where she would be stationed at a makeshift base around the valley surrounding the Central Vault.^[6]

MGA Assembly[]

On May 15th, Rhythm attended an MGA assembly at New Elpis City Hall to hear Iana's case regarding the identity of the Twilight Collective's true leader. From the information provided by Iana, Rhythm and the others learned that her mother and Victorian Arms CEO Mrs. T was in truth a fabricated identity created by the Twilight Collective's actual leader The Dealer, a reincarnated clone of The Son who sought to use the Twilight Collective as an army to battle against The Son and the Nexus Apparitions, with the uprising against the megacorporations of Earth-52319 serving as a massive test for the army.

After this revelation came to light, the meeting was interrupted by the arrival of The Son's daughter Sophia and The Four Apparitions, who confirmed Iana's claims and pledged their support to the MGA to stop The Dealer. Together, the group formulated a plan to trap The Dealer and his army within the Central Vault's hollowed pocket dimension by luring the army to the vault using Sophia's Nexu signature, which The Dealer would mistake for The Son's. As part of the plan, Stratus ordered Rhythm to round up the other Tech Agents on the island to collectively mass produce a series of individual teleporters using Nexu energy provided by Thor to allow each MGA solider to evacuate from the Central Vault's valley when the trap was sprung.^[6]

Prelude to Battle[]

By nightfall, Rhythm and the other Tech Agents had finished their work and distributed the teleporters to each MGA soldier involved with the upcoming battle, including Renee "Trinity" Lynch and her soldiers guarding the mainland checkpoint leading onto Paradise Island. Rhythm was later called to the MGA base to be debriefed on the finalized plan developed by Vendetta, Sophia and the other Nexus Apparitions using information from Amber Summers regarding the Twilight Collective's mobilization in Midnight City.^[6]

Battle of the Central Vault[]

The following morning, Rhythm and the rest of the MGA took defensive positions around the base after Trinity radioed in to inform everyone of the Twilight Collective's assault on the mainland checkpoint. After a few hours, the MGA base was attacked by The Dealer and his forces, thus sparking the Battle of the Central Vault. During the battle, Rhythm initially fought alongside Stratus, though she ended up being separated from him amidst the chaos before lending her aid to other MGA soldiers struggling to hold back against the relentless onslaught.

After learning that the last of the Twilight Collective forces had entered the valley, Vendetta authorized everyone in the MGA to use their teleporters upon receiving confirmation from the Nexus Apparitions that the trap was ready to be sprung. Rhythm quickly complied with the order and used her teleporter to escape, ending up in a random room in the New Elpis Emergency Shelter. Rhythm found a monitor in the room and saw live footage of the Central Vault's pocket dimension opening up to absorb all of the Twilight Collective forces still in the valley, prompting Rhythm to celebrate the victory.^[6]

Memorial Service[]

In spite of their victory, it quickly became known that several MGA soldiers were unable to escape the trap in time, most notably Vega, whose teleporter had been damaged while protecting Vendetta against an attack from Marshal. A few days after the battle, Rhythm attended a memorial service at the sealed Central Vault hatch to pay her respects to Vega and the various other MGA soldiers who were lost in the battle, where she caught a glimpse of the decimated battlegrounds. After listening to Vega's eulogy, Rhythm joined Vendetta on stage with the other members of Techno to present flowers and honor the memory of their fallen friend and companion.^[6]

Appearance[]

Danielle is a young woman with a fair complexion, average build and dark purple eyes. She has dark lavender hair that she keeps in a shaved bangs hairstyle resembling a faux hawk, and thin eyebrows of the same color. She also wears eyeliner around her eyes, purple-colored matte lipstick, and has both of her ears pierced at the lobe.

Danielle's normal civilian attire comprises of a purple-black polo shirt with purple accents on the sides, black denim shorts, and black canvas shoes with white laces and accents. She also wears two black and white leather straps on her right arm, her Techno Watch on her left arm, and has a small diamond stud earring in each earlobe. Before joining Techno, Danielle had a black watch she wore instead.

While operating as Rhythm, Danielle wears a purple racerback with black and white decals, a black mini skirt, and purple high top sneakers with white accents. She also wears purple headphones with black accents, and her Techno Watch also remains on her arm as a design choice.

While visiting New Elpis Nightclub, Danielle wears a black mini dress with black knee-high boots.

Abilities[]

Master Engineer: Rhythm's fascination for technology allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of technological development at an early age. She used this skill in tandem with her role as a Tech Agent to help create various gadgets for Techno, including her own blaster.
Combatant: Upon joining Techno, Rhythm underwent basic hand-to-hand combat lessons, which were later assessed and refined under Gideon's tutelage.
Marksman: Rhythm received basic firearm training after being inducted into Techno.

Techno Headquarters: Rhythm and the other members of Techno operated at a large condominium in New Elpis owned by the Mirage Corporation up until Mirage was bought out by Atlas International.
Techno Tower: After being reassigned to operate in Midnight City, Rhythm and the rest of Techno's roster were relocated to Techno Tower, which became her new place of residence.
