Darkness of the Unknown is Xarcoh's primary boss theme, appearing in the maps Purge, Fall of Destiny, Palace of Secrets, and The Ultimate Trial. This version of the track was created and composed by Yoko Shimomura for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX.
Phases II and III of Darkness of the Unknown appear within the Roach Chronicles:
- Phase II: Appears as the final boss theme in Purge, and as Xarcoh's boss theme in Fall of Destiny, Palace of Secrets, and The Ultimate Trial.
- Phase III: Appears in "The Soulless" group fight within Boss Rush.
