“For the Queen!”

―A common Drone battlecry

The Locust Drones are the standard, and most numerous military species in the Locust Horde. They are bred for geonicide and each is eager to slay an enemy who defies the horde. Each is undyingly loyal to the Queen and would willingly cast aside their lives to protect her or earn her respect. Drones serve as the main force for the Locust Horde and can be seen in all of their battle and campaigns. They are known to be as bloodthirsty as they are numerous. Their female counterpart are the myopic, muscular Berserkers.

When the multiverse was shattered on the Moon, the Drones along with the entire Locust Horde was brought to Earth. The Drones were quick to react and to combat the entrenching Zombie forces.

In Zombies

Drones can be seen fighting the Zombies and eventually the Lambent. They can be seen in the background, or even by the player's side, seperated by wreckage. On occasion, Drones can be seen being killed. They can revive eachover and will often share ammo with eachover. A single drone is playable, coming in the form of their General. The Drone's presence also gives the sense that there is a war going on. In special rounds, it is an efficient tactic to look to the Drones for tactics when new to the map, as they will react accordingly to the round. Some will make mistakes and perform what is not meant to be done (for instance, running into a group of Formers with a Retro Lancer, when Formers can spread out).
