Elemental Ascendants are mortals who have undergone a transformation and evolved into beings of the pure element of which they have ascended into. Ascendants debuted in Elemental Ascendance.

Elemental Ascendance[]
The Ascendants first appear shortly before the users decide to evacuate the civilians. Patricia alerts Kirsten to their presence, who tells the family to board up the windows and close the doorways, as well as stop shooting. Kirsten looks through a small peephole, and the Ascendants begin walking through the Zombie crowds. Initially, Kirsten's plan works, however the Users re-emergance alerts the Ascendants to the presence of the living. The Users manage to kill dozens of them, which then spread their taint to the other Zombies, either filling them with Element 115, or turning them into Elemental Zombies. After the evacuation, Elemental Ascendants can be seen rarely in the map.
There are four main types of Ascendants:
- Air: Can create whirlwinds, run a lot faster than any other enemy (bar a Dragon's flight), can evade attacks. They can also teleport, which uses a reskin of Kirsten's teleportation ability. They are grey in colour.
- Water: Can cause hurricanes, which pour icy crystals dealing damage to anything but itself. They can also absorb damage and reflect it back at a random target. They can rarely explode, and reform itself nearby with some health restored. They are blue in colour.
- Earth: Can cause spikes to form and rise up. They can cause earthquakes which slip up players (or down them at point blank range). They are 35% more resilient to damage, aswell as having 35% more health than other Ascendants. They are brown in colour.
- Fire: They burn the ground around them, dealing damage to everything but itself. They nullify Enigma, as the light reveals the person. They deflect bullets, and send them back, doing fire damage. They explode upon death, but don't leave a patch behind.
Trivia[]
- Elemental Ascendants play a minor role in the map, so it is strange as the map is named after the process. They however indirectly cause the deaths of Kirsten, Hershel and Maggie.
