Ethan Sumner is a character that first appeared in In Decay, as one of the leading characters and as George's best friend. He makes his first appearance in the opening phase, Prologue, and, other than George, appears in the most phases overall. He posseses a worryingly extensive knowledge of firearms, being able to identify most guns and being able to describe their origin.
Ethan also appears as the main playable character in the DLC add-on Sumner's Stories, which is said after the original game. It is based around Ethan trying to impress a group of people by telling her numerous, albeit fake, stories about the events in Felsborough outbreak.
