A Better Tomorrow Second Chance Day of the Departed (movie) Rebirth of Gruntijackal The War Machine War of Vengeance Creation by RoachTheIntelCollector canon to the Roach Chronicles

The Fractured Realm is a realm created from the remnants of the first Earth-92116 rip timeline. Following its creation, it no longer was bound to the laws of time to any certain universe, thus allowing it to exist even when the events that led to the realm's creation were ultimate wiped from history.

History[]

A Better Tomorrow[]

The Fractured Realm was created when Nate Richard, Francis Hernandez, Emre McElligott, and Phil Stewart powered the Morbid Pillar within the first Earth-92116 rip timeline using the Summoning Key. The pillar would sever the rip timeline's connection to the main Earth-92116 timeline, isolating it into its own realm within the Ethereal Divide that could now be opened from any universe. After events in Earth-92116 were altered, namely the events that led to the Fractured Realm's creation, the realm itself remained unaffected as it was already created and separated from the universe.

Over time, the realm's layout would degrade into a galactic-purple void with many floating islands containing former landmarks of the rip timeline scattered across. Remnants of Unit 14's work and the zombies created from it would come to be the main residents of the Fractured Realm, as well as anyone who became stuck while trying to cross through the Ethereal Divide without reaching their intended destination. Additionally, discarded bits and pieces of space-time also wound up in the Fractured Realm over the years, essentially turning the realm into a form of interdimensional junkyard for the inhabitants of the Nexus.

The Disaster[]

Having been unable to escape the collapsing rift between their universe and Limbo following Xarcoh's defeat, the members of Amici (Mackenzie Davis, John Doc, Rick Peterson and Gary Arlington) all ended up being displaced to the Fractured Realm, losing their physical forms in the process.

Day of the Departed[]

In Earth-61017, the weakened spirit of Gruntijackal, having been pulled through space and time from his own universe through the power of the Green Eclipse, sought to use the power of the eclipse in tandem with the Yin Blade in order to open the fabled Rift of Resurrection and resurrect himself completely.

When Gruntijackal finally came to open his rift however, it was revealed that the combined powers of both the eclipse and the weapon tore completely through the Ethereal Divide and into the Fractured Realm, which began pouring its contents out into Earth-61017 so long as the eclipse continued. Gruntijackal was left powerless as the rift consumed him due to his proximity to the opening, causing his spirit to become bound to the Fractured Realm lest he regain a physical form before the eclipse ended and the rift closed.

Within the Fractured Realm, Amici found Gruntijackal's opening overhead the site of the Morbid Pillar. Using the leftover energy from the pillar and the Yin Blade's dark magic holding the rift open, the four were able to regain their physical forms and escape the realm, joining Umbra Ops in fighting the zombies that were unleashed from the realm. Unable to follow suit with Amici, Gruntijackal furiously used what remaining strength he had left to push himself out of the rift, hoping to drag Amici back into the realm with him.

Despite his attempt, Gruntijackal was unable to bring Amici back into the realm with him due to Umbra Ops' intervention before being pulled back into the realm himself as the eclipse ended and the rift dispersed. Prior to being completely lost within the realm, Gruntijackal managed to telepathically contact Edward Richtofen, manipulating him into doing his bidding.

Rebirth of Gruntijackal[]

Under Gruntijackal's orders, Richtofen and later Xarcoh underwent a scheme to open the Fractured Realm to free him by repeating the process Gruntijackal did to try and open the Rift of Resurrection. The plan was a success, and the duo managed to use the Yin Blade during a Green Eclipse of their own making in Earth-31218 to free Gruntijackal from the realm's grasp. Gruntijackal soon acquired the dormant body of Samantha Maxis to use as a vessel, which allowed him to break his grip completely from the Fractured Realm.

The War Machine[]

Utilizing his advanced mastery over the element of Space, Gigabyte was able to open a tear to the Fractured Realm, where he sealed Umbra Ops within following their failure to prevent the Robot Army from annihilating all of humanity using Scorpion bombs.

War of Vengeance[]

Two weeks following their banishment to the Fractured Realm, Umbra Ops managed to locate the powerless Time Blade within the realm, seeking to reactivate its power in order to breach through space and time to return to their own universe. Making use of the mysterious Cavern of Remembrance within the realm, the four were able to traverse to different periods in their muliverse's past histories to recover the Time Blade's missing power, their own actions having no effect to the original timeline.

Upon reclaiming all of the four components of the Time Blade's power and returning back to the Cavern of Remembrance, Umbra Ops were able to restore the blade to its original glory. Using its sheer power, Umbra Ops successfully escaped the Fractured Realm and returned back to the main timeline of Earth-61017, with the Time Blade proving to be the key weapon in defeating Omnitron and Gigabyte while undoing the Robot Army's desolation of Earth.

Once the restored Time Blade had been removed from the Fractured Realm, the Cavern of Remembrance ceased to exist, as it was directly tied to the weapon.
