The Black Star is the sixth phase of In Decay and appears in Chapter 2. It chronically takes place the day after Chapter 1.3: Recruitment, although players can activate it at any time. It reveals a major plot point of the game, the development of an MRBM that is known as the Black Star.

"Lives have already been taken, and the members of DS3 are starting to rely on their instincts rather than their morals. The group have survived their first night together, and are ready to face the dawn of a new day. However, the future fate of Felsborough has been confirmed to be, quite literally, dust. Development of the Black Star has begun, and nobody is surviving the blast."
