Kara Mendelsohn, known primarily as Marigold, is the current CEO of the Helios Corporation, succeeding her father whom passed away in 2124.
She will make her first appearance in the 2025 video game Futuristic Warfare. She'll be voiced by Erin Yvette.
Biography[]
Prior to Jeremy Mendelsohn's passing, Kara spent most of her life in the criminal underworld, making a name for herself, creating weapons and selling them, providing security and protection to those who could afford her services. Because of this life, she became wealthy and used that money to expand her influence and remained out of the eye of her father and the public. Kara was born with King Midas' golden touch, inheriting it from her father Jeremy whom became cursed with it during an archaeological expedition in 2076. She was taught by her father to control her powers and she grew up having golden possessions due to this, and learned to use this power during her ventures in the underworld.
With the passing of her father in 2124, she was his only living descendent and she, by legal and hereditary right, inherited the Helios Corporation. Under her control, she used the megacorporation to further her own influence now that she was able to operate globally and, with her black market contacts, began to tap into the public security sector, arms industry and biotechnology. She personally oversaw the development of the megacorporation's weapons divisions and projects, creating and producing many different types of weaponry for clients and the company's own private security forces. She held an interest in expanding her hereditary golden touch powers to allowing her security forces to wield it for themselves. To this end, she recruited Doctor Arthur Daniels, an expert in the field of biotechnology, biomedical and augmentation. Doctor Daniels proved to be an extremely valuable asset and she held him in high regard as well as in respect. However, he was against her idea of passing on her powers and threatened to resign, but she retracted to avoid losing him. To get what she wanted, She decided to manipulate him and discussed the possibility of instead creating technology to harness electricity and he was on board with it.
This project of hers went well for four years until Atlas International had gotten wind of it in 2136. In the summer of that year, she was alerted by Doctor Daniels of an incursion at the S.A.R. Blacksite, the location in the Rocky Mountains where the project was headquartered, and discovered that the intruders were Shadow Company PMC operators. Unable to arrive in time, she found the blacksite to be completely decimated, all of the equipment and records destroyed and Doctor Daniels nowhere to be found, with physical evidence indicating he was killed on site. This resulted in a public feud between herself and Shadow Company's leaders.
