Layla Sumner, often called Lay by Lucy Reddington, is a character that first appeared in In Decay, and is the sister of deutragonist Ethan Sumner. She works as a mechanic, and during the opening stages of the outbreak she is held up in Yellowstone's AutoRepairs.
Throughout the story, she builds a close relationship with Shaun Murphy, even more so than her brother. In the second safehouse, she is often seen talking to him, which Ethan often comments about to George when the two are traversing the town.
