“I will not hesitate to fight you!”
―Lextyr

Lextyr, the King of Shadows, was the Soulless of Tyler Jackson, Rank IV among the four original Soulless, Rank XI of the Thirteen, and a minor antagonist within The Disaster saga.

Lextyr was the Soulless's reconnaissance expert, often using his powers over the shadows to watch from afar and gather information. During a mission in Germany however, he was encountered by Amici, who were recovering from the Unit 14 fallout. Knowing their interference could jeopardize the Soulless's plan to prevent the Unit 14 time cycle from restarting, Lextyr fought with the four, only to be defeated and destroyed. With his destruction and the release of his original self's soul from the Harbinger, TJ was able to reform.

History[]

Reformed History[]

After Roach used the power of the Harbinger to extract the souls of O'Ryan, Chris, TJ and himself, their physical forms faded out, rematerializing in Limbo as Soulless, where they became corrupted by the darkness of Limbo due to the efforts of the Prophets of the Soulless. During their time in Limbo, Xarcoh discovered it was possible for the four to become human again if they were destroyed and their original souls were freed from the Harbinger. Despite this knowledge however, Xarcoh believed the only way to ensure that Unit 14 would never complete their cycle was if the four remained as Soulless. The other Soulless agreed to this, swearing to never return to humanity.

The Disaster[]

Four years after becoming Soulless, a rift leading to reality opens in Limbo, allowing the four to escape Limbo. Upon exiting the rift in an underground chamber in Mateur, Tunisia and reaching ground level, they see the aftermath of Unit 14's plan, which had caused the world to be nothing but a barren wasteland. The four Soulless head to the Gilze Rijen Air Base in Hulten, Netherlands, where they make that, along with an abandoned coastal bunker in Genoa, Italy as a base of operations. Learning of a Unit 14 hideout in Hamburg, Germany, Xarcoh sends Lextyr to investigate the facility.

At the facility, Lextyr came to discover Amici fighting the undead there, seeking answers through abandoned Unit 14 intel of what became of Division One. Lextyr anonymously contacts them remotely, cryptically saying they are close to finding out where "they" went before going quiet. Soon, Amici discovered Lextyr, mistaking him for TJ, though Lextyr corrects them by stating he was TJ's Soulless. Amici inquired what became of the others to Lextyr, though he was remotely contacted by Xarcoh before he could say anything, ordering him to stop them from interfering with their plans. Lextyr obliged without hesitation, drawing out his Scorpion crossbow before fighting Amici.

Despite his efforts, Lextyr would be defeated as he dropped his crossbow to the ground, which promptly faded away. As Lextyr himself began to fade away to begin the process of restoring TJ, Lextyr commented that if Amici wanted answers, they should ask the others at the airbase in the Netherlands before completely fading out. Using this information, Amici deduced the location of the other Soulless and soon ventured to the base. Eventually, TJ would successfully be restored once his soul was freed from the Harbinger in addition to Lextyr's prior elimination.

Day of the Departed[]

Lextyr is mentioned by Mac while he recounters the events of The Disaster saga. He also appears in a flashback as well.

Age of the Soulless[]

Darkness Rises[]

While Umbra Ops fought against the Prophets of the Soulless at the Temple of Resurrection, Echthroi continued the ritual to resurrect Erebus, causing everyone in the room apart from Echthroi and Axel to collapse onto the ground in pain as they began turning into Soulless as a cost for executing the ritual. After the ritual was completed and Erebus was resurrected, Lextyr and the other Soulless came back into existence alongside the Soulless counterparts of the Prophets of the Soulless. Unlike before, Lextyr and the other original Soulless were not corrupted by darkness, thus allowing them to regain their selfhood as protagonists.

The Dark Soldier[]

Lextyr and the other original Soulless serve as the main playable characters, fighting against the Prophets of the Soulless and later Erebus. After a climatic battle atop the Dark Spire, the Erebus, along with the Soulless, are destroyed by the Cube of Darkness, which the latter used to destroy the former in order to avert the threat.

Boss Rush[]

A reflection of Lextyr from the days of The Disaster was created by the mystical Delphi Amphitheater and influenced by the Grandmaster with the use of Prima Materia that was unleashed by the completion of the ultimate Sentinel Trial. This reflection would be imbued with that version of Lextyr's strong thoughts that still lingered even after he ceased to exist, thus allowing Lextyr to live on one last time, though he would remain bonded to the Delphi Amphitheater along with the reflections of other villains across the multiverse until he was to be defeated by one of the Heroes of Light. Additionally, Lextyr's reflection would create a soul for him, thus allowing him to co-exist alongside his original counterpart. Along with the other Roach Chronicles villains, Lextyr would become a part of a collective organization known as the Thirteen created by the Grandmaster, his past history and powers granting him Rank XI within the group.

During the subsequent Boss Rush tournament, Lextyr would be pitted against his original self TJ and the members of Amici minus Rick Peterson. Having been staggered by the dark essence that emerged from him following his defeat, Lextyr looked at his fading hands, remarking that this is what it felt to have emotions. Glancing at his complete self, Lextyr remarked that he pitied him for having to bear a soul. TJ told his Soulless self that it was only human to suffer from emotions, saying that while they may get in their way from time to time, he explained that it was what let them know that they were still human, no matter what they had become. Lextyr sighed with agitation before shedding a tear with a somber smile as he faded away. Of the thirteen Roach Chronicles bosses present in the tournament, Xirsch was the fourth boss to be eliminated.

Appearance[]

Like the other Soulless, Lextyr wears a black coat with black gloves and boots, as well as having yellow-golden eyes.

Weapons and Abilities[]

A master of manipulating shadows, Lextyr has the power to phase into the ground as a shadow and roam around freely without the risk of being damaged, as well as the ability to cloak himself. He can also create shadow clones of himself to perform various combos between the various versions of himself.

Lextyr wields a unique crossbow called the Scorpion in battle. This crossbow fires special shadow-tipped bolts, allowing them to fade from sight once fired. Lextyr can also manipulate fired bolts mid-flight, using his powers to duplicate the amount of bolts due to their shadowy nature.
