Could this be Maxis? Doubt it.

Dr. Ludvig Maxis was the head of Group 935 and is one of the main antagonists of the canon Zombies storyline. He was an ambitious man, loving father and some would say far from his time. But he was also ruthless towards his underlings, and had a very short temper to boot.

Originally, he developed Group 935 as a research institute that swore never to involve itself in acts of war and/or violence; come the turn of World War II, he decided to join the Nazi high command to develop new weapons.

Among some of his more well-known inventions (such as the pioneering of Element 115, the Teleporters, the 31-79 JGb215-as Richtofen said in Shangri-La-the Ray Gun, the Thundergun and the Hellhounds), Dr. Maxis also created the zombies for the sole purpose of raising from the dead an invincible army to crush the allies once and for all. However, these zombies proved to be uncontrollable, unresponsive and highly aggressive.

After he failed with that, he moved on towards another experiment; the creation of the teleporters. Using plans from his assistant, Dr. Edward Richtofen, he decided to use the teleporters as a way of mass-transporting troops behind enemy lines; but his attempts were far from successful. The one success he did achieve, though, cost both him and his daughter's lives. One night, he was experimenting with the teleporters via repurposing his daughter's dog into a guinea pig. His assistant, however, had other plans, and as soon as Ludvig's daughter burst through the laboratory doors, Richtofen locked both him and his daughter in the same room that his demonic creation was in.

In Moon, it is revealed that he is still alive, though not exactly. After he was killed in Shangri-La and mainipulating his daughter into taking revenge on the members of Group 935, Maxis predicted that Richtofen would try in vain to control the zombies, so he installed a recording of his own voice into the moon base central computer, all the while intent on only one goal; if he would not have Earth, than neither would Richtofen.

Trivia[]

  • Maxis was also known for his more human emotions; as before the infestation, he fell in love with fellow scientist, Sophia.
