The Mesmerizer is a wonder weapon that first appeared in Among Angels. It is a single-shot projectile based weapon that fires a cannister of black fluid. The enemy hit will become friendly, and will attack other enemies.

Effectiveness

The Mesmerizer can greatly help the player when being swarmed or trapped. Affected enemies will stop attacking you, and other enemies will turn their attention to the friendly. Each friendly can take around the same amount of damage as a player using Juggernog. They also inflict a large amount of damage, with their strikes being comparable to a shot from the Ray Gun.

It's single-shot fire mode can be a hinderance to the player, although the reload time is low, so it isn't much of an issue. It also has a fairly large amount of spare ammunition. One of the main issues is that it doesn't directly inflict damage, and you have to rely on the affected enemies to inflict it. You can also only control three enemies at a time, and affected enemies will always die after all other enemies in the round are killed.

Hypnos

When Pack-a-Punched it becomes the Hypnos. This upgrade will increase the health of an affected enemy, the damage one inflicts, and will also provide the player with more spare ammunition and a slight reload boost. However, upgrading will not change the magazine size, meaning that it stays single-shot.
