“Born and raised in Paradise Island. Roxanne Summers is an only child of Richard Summers. Highly athletic, graduated at the top of her class. Continued to excel in her atletic abilities. Scouted by Vega in 2140 and joined Techno. Atlas evaluation recommends Roxanne for executive duties.”
―Atlas Dossier, Level 5 Clearance

Roxanne Summers, callsign Rox, is the Recon Agent Lead of Techno. At a young age, Roxanne was saved by Techno co-leader Isabelle "Siren" Lakewood, inspiring Roxanne to one day join the team. After finally joining Techno however, Rox became conflicted with her former savior as Siren began to take a dark turn, putting the team at odds with her leadership. When a vote was held to determine Siren's fate within the group, Rox's was unfortunately the decisive vote that demoted Siren, pushing Siren completely over the edge. Before Siren could do any physical harm to Rox, she was quickly thrown out of the team by the others, though the altercation left Rox deeply scarred as a result.

Not long after, Rox and the other Division Leads found themselves caught in a surprise zombie outbreak orchastrated by Blackout, who plotted to rid the world of its Fractured-Space Energy to prevent the annihilation of their universe, claiming it was the only way. Rox and the others refused to believe Blackout and did everything in their power to defeat him, ultimately allowing their universe to be destroyed and killing everyone. This grim outcome would soon be undone by the efforts of The Son and replicant variants of Rox and the others, who altered the old history contained within a Timeline Loop, using that as a universal foundation for the new history. As part of this new history, all F-Space Energy was depleted before Blackout was conceived.

Without their supply of F-Space Energy to profit off of, Techno's owner, the Mirage Corporation, was bought out by Atlas International, who redesignated Techno as a counter-terrorism task force to undergo operations in Midnight City. Rox and the rest of Techno were relocated to Techno Tower, though Rox was attacked by two of Siren's mercenaries while packing her belongings in New Elpis. Fortunately for Rox, she was saved by a displaced Abigail-Ignotus, who she quickly developed feelings for. Together, the two managed to defeat Siren's goons and escape New Elpis. Along with the other Division Leads, Rox and Abigail-Ignotus worked to uncover Siren's whereabouts while also healing Abigail-Ignotus' own scars from her troubled past. Following their victory over Siren, Rox and Abigail-Ignotus, who now adopted the name Paige Bishop, began dating before eventually marrying in 2144.

Background[]

Early Life[]

Roxanne Summers was born on June 9th, 2123 in New Elpis, Paradise Island to Richard Summers and an unnamed mother. On August 13th, 2132 at the age of nine, Roxanne was saved by Isabelle "Siren" Lakewood, the co-leader of Techno, during an unknown incident. This encounter prompted Roxanne to tell her savior that she would join Techno one day and help those in need before sharing a hug with Siren out of gratitude.[2] Over the course of the next several years, Roxanne developed into a kind-hearted and deeply caring young woman, becoming highly-respected in her community.

In 2140, Roxanne graduated from New Elpis High School at the top of her class in athletics, later coming out as a lesbian. Shortly after her eighteenth birthday, Roxanne was scouted by Jennifer "Vega" Reese after being tipped off by Siren, who extended an invitation to Roxanne to join Techno on her behalf. Upon accepting the offer, Roxanne packed up her belongings and moved out of her parents' house before being relocated to a condo at Techno Headquarters to live at while operating with Techno.[3]

Working with Techno[]

Rising the Ranks[]

Now operating as a Techno operative, Roxanne gained the callsign "Rox", a shortened version of her first name. Over the course of the next two years, Rox worked diligently as a Recon Agent, becoming the organization's foremost reconnaissance expert. In early 2143, Rox's hard work and commitment to her duties paid off as she was promoted to the rank of Recon Agent Lead and given a seat on the Techno Inner Circle, succeeding Nakata "Demi" Hayashi.[3]

Siren's Outburst[]

Within the months following Rox's induction to the Techno Inner Circle, the two Techno co-leaders, Siren and Tomiko "Vendetta" Hayashi, began butting heads and causing issues. In late June, Siren's resentment towards Vendetta nearly derailed one of their missions; this action forced the other Techno Inner Circle members besides Siren to assemble soon after on July 2nd to privately discuss Siren and her leadership, which was overseen by Demi, who had since been instated as Techno's handler within the Mirage Corporation.

Rox listened in as the others went back and forth between the options of demoting Siren or keeping her as one of the team's leaders. When it came time to vote on Siren's fate within the team however, Rox was unsure of what to do, as while she would always remain grateful to Siren for saving her life, she didn't like what Siren had become as of late. Ultimately, Rox decided that it would be best if Siren stepped down as leader, though as she began writing her vote, Siren barged into the room and noticed Rox's stance on the voting.

Once the other Techno Inner Circle members' votes were gathered and counted, Vendetta revealed that it was a 3-2 vote to demote Siren, something that greatly enraged her. Siren immediately began eying Rox, as she was aware of her stance on the matter. Stricken by fear, Rox could only sit in utter discomfort as Siren spun her chair around, forcing Rox to look directly at her. Despite the others' attempts to defuse the situation, Siren prepared to escalate it drastically by reaching for her holstered weapon, intending to do harm to Rox.

Vendetta and Vega quickly jumped in to protect Rox by disarming and detaining Siren. While Demi and Victor "Stratus" Payton shielded Rox, who was now visibly shaken and terrified by what was happening, Vendetta and Vega forced Siren out of the building, where Vendetta denounced Siren and stripped her of her position within Techno entirely, ordering her to leave. Rox watched from behind everyone as Siren stormed away, vowing revenge on them all, namedropping Rox specifically as she left.

At this point, Rox was now on the brink of tears, although she was quickly comforted by everyone. Demi assured Rox that no matter what, they would do everything to protect her from Siren. Rox soon began to calm down and thanked everyone for their kindness, though she remained miffed as she silently stared at the door Vendetta forced Siren to exit the building from. Later on, Rox began to solely blame herself for Siren's actions, though she was quickly reassured by her friends that it wasn't her fault and that, while they all chose to demote Siren together, it was Siren alone who chose to act the way she did.[4]
