Samantha's Funeral

Samantha's Funeral is a minor easter egg featured in Wald des Todes. It spans two steps, and is focused on giving the skeleton of Samantha Maxis a proper burial, as she was murdered in both Der Riese and Generation, respectively. The reward for completing it is all players receiving a Monkey Bomb.

Step 1

Step 1 can only be achieved after a dog round past Round 15. The first step requires the player to obtain a Zeit-Beschleuniger Pack-a-Punched, aswell as a Regenerator Wunderwaffe (set to normal), and going to the courtyard. Once at the courtyard, the Wunderwaffe must be fired at the tree that has grown through the fence and twisted it. The Regenerator Wunderwaffe must then be fired at the tree, causing it to explode. Once the tree is gone, the skeleton of Samantha will be lying there. The Zeit-Beschleuniger must then be shot at the hole in her head. This will revert time and revive her.

Step 2

Samantha will follow the person who revived her, going roughly the same speed as a player walking with an LMG. The players must then reach the area just outside the hanging mans room and all must knife a root growing out of the ground. When this is done, the root will retract, creating a gaping hole. Samantha must then be lured into the hole and shot again with the Zeit. She will quickly relive her Der Riese death, and die in a brutal manner. She is ripped to pieces and the ground around her will grow back, covering her. All four players will then receive a Monkey Bomb (if they already had one, they will receive a bonus one that is replenished with Max Ammo).

Trivia

• Some consider that actually being able to see Samantha's death was child cruelty and the easter egg was considered contreversial, and was banned from doing in some countries.
• Samantha states that Sophia 'got to safety' before Fluffy killed her. This implies that Sophia managed to escape Der Riese after witnessing her lover being murdered by Fluffy. It is later revealed that is was Harvey Yena who released the Hellhounds (under the influence of an Aether Spirit), and he resuced Sophia before they managed to spread throughout the facility.
