Setting[]
Tartarus Laboratory is set within an overrun Umbrella Corporation research facility hidden in the outskirts of Nome, Alaska amidst a failed experiment to weaponize a newly-discovered genetic strain of the Progenitor Virus known as the Animality Virus, yielding in the creation of a new zombie type. The map is a Zombies adaptation of the multiplayer map DRC - Zone 1 from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Visually, the map adapts the appearance of the Observatory section of the Orpheus Research Center from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Extraction.

Hardcore Mode[]
Tartarus Laboratory introduces a special Hardcore Mode, where players deal more damage to zombies at the cost of having lower max health and increased zombie spawns and speeds. This mode can be activated within the map at a special station in the spawn room once the majority of players vote in favor of activating the mode.
