The Temple of Terminus (also known as Terminus Palace) was a massive sky fortress created by Gruntijackal, Edward Richtofen, and Xarcoh as a base of operations during The Hands of Destiny saga of the Roach Chronicles.
The temple was designed to be the birth chamber of Gruntijackal's final form as the Emperor of Destiny once the Lamp of Destiny was delivered to him by the heroes. Unknown to its occupants at the time, it also housed the Reversal attribute for the Time Blade within the temple's sky gardens.
History[]
The Hands of Destiny[]
After returning to Earth, Gruntijackal uses the last of his Aetherian powers within him after leaving the MPD to create the Temple of Terminus, which would serve as the headquarters for him and his generals Richtofen and Xarcoh during their plot to force Novus into retrieving the Lamp of Destiny for them.
Once Xarcoh acquires the lamp from the heroes upon discovering a potential loophole in their plan, he returns to the Temple of Terminus, where the villains prepare a ritual chamber for Gruntijackal to consume the powers of Dark Creation within the lamp and transform himself into the fabled Emperor of Destiny. After a couple of days, the room is completed, and Gruntijackal begins the ritual to break open the lamp. However, Novus are able to reach the temple, and begin fighting their way through it in order to find a way to open the ritual chamber and stop Gruntijackal. In a last-ditch attempt to succeed in their plans, Xarcoh sacrifices both Richtofen's and his own life force for Gruntijackal to complete the ritual, allowing him to complete his transformation into the Emperor of Destiny.
Retreating into a empty chamber, the Emperor of Destiny is confronted by Novus, who battles him one last time. Utilizing the Ravish, an experimental siphoning weapon, the heroes are able to defeat the Emperor of Destiny after a grueling fight, resulting in the temple's destruction.
War of Vengeance[]
Simultaneously with Gruntijackal's ritual, the time-displaced members of Umbra Ops arrive at the sky gardens of the temple to retrieve the Reversal attribute of the Time Blade, the final one needed to restore the blade and return back to their time to defeat Omnitron and his forces. However, Xarcoh and Richtofen are alerted to their intrusion, and promptly intercept them before they can retrieve the attribute. Xarcoh and Richtofen proceed to fight Umbra Ops, though they waver and relinquish the attribute to Umbra Ops before leaving to protect Gruntijackal from Novus.
