The Drifters were a vagrant group led by Jessika Hudson. Founded in 2135 when Synapse saved Jessika's daughter Sally from a kidnapping, earning her trust. In 2136, DJ joined the group after Jessika and Synapse assisted DJ in fighting off a group of drunk men near a nightclub. In 2138 during a stay in Midnight City, the group came across the twins Vexera and Tex after taking part in a job together, and the twins joined The Drifters afterwards.
Following a climatic battle against the Neon Raiders which led the death of Scarlet's estranged aunt Klara Riley, the Drifters went their seperate ways, with Jessika and Sally joining The Son and his Nexus Apparitions back to the Nexus, and Vexera and Tex returning to their adoptive father to attend Midnight City University.
