The Forsaken was a private military company founded and led by Isabelle Lakewood following her dismissal from Techno. The organization was bankrolled by The Dealer, and was used as a proxy front for the Twilight Collective to redirect attention away from the collective's mission without Siren or any of the other members' knowledge.

Background[]

Formation[]

Following Atlas International's buyout of the Mirage Corporation and its assets, Isabelle Lakewood, still bitter from her removal from Techno's roster following her violent outburst, sought vengeance against her former allies. While storming away from a television displaying a news report of Techno's planned incorporation into P.A.R.A.D.O.X. as its own counter-terrorism force, Lakewood was approached by The Dealer.

The Dealer told Lakewood that they were aware of her history, offering her a chance to take down Atlas and Techno. The Dealer handed Lakewood a check for a large sum of money to convince the latter to accept their terms; Lakewood accepted The Dealer's offer, and with her newfound partnership with them, Lakewood began creating her own private military company to rival Techno.[1]

Build-Up[]

Over the next few weeks, Siren built-up the Forsaken's power, gathering various members, namely mercenaries and soldiers, for the group and establishing a base within Neon City. On September 22nd, several former Techno agents who left the group out of support for Siren were hired by her to join the Forsaken as some of its elite members. Siren later secured business deals with Victorian Arms, Roberts-West Weapon Systems and FORGE Armament through connections with The Dealer.

On October 3rd, Siren and a few members of the Forsaken joined forces with Klara Riley and her Neon Raiders to assault the Drifters in Neomuna, intending to test the Neon Raiders' capabilities for potential future collaborations. To Siren's dismay, the Neon Raiders, in spite of their larger numbers, proved to be incapable of winning their battle against the Drifters, who were now receiving help from The Son, Sif and Freyja. Siren decided to cut her losses and ultimately betrayed Klara and the Neon Raiders by pulling her Forsaken forces out from the battle, resulting in Klara's demise at the hands of her niece, Scarlet Riley.[2]

Illegal Activities[]

Eventually on October 20th, Siren authorized the acquisition of an abandoned warehouse in Midnight City for the Forsaken to utilize as a listening outpost against Atlas International. Siren's actions however were illegal, as she couldn't establish facilities within Midnight City without approval from the Atlas Council.[3]

Composition[]

The Forsaken was modeled by Siren to be akin to Techno. The group's roster consists of hired mercenaries and soldiers given to Siren by The Dealer. The Forsaken also has access to various 501st Corporation weaponry and equipment, which was stashed at depots within their headquarters in Neon City and the warehouse they operated out of in Midnight City.

Many of Siren's loyalists still part of Techno had left the group to rejoin her in the Forsaken shortly after its founding. Notable loyalists included Echo, Delta, Joker, Ketch and Gerlock, many of whom held the same views on Techno as Siren did after her termination.
