The Instrumentalist is a collection of musical easter eggs introduced in Vengeance. It contains the assisting author's favorite instrumental pieces from some of the most famous composers that ever lived. The collection's namesake came from one of the assisting author's favorite TV shows, The Mentalist. It is the fifth and last collection of musical easter eggs submitted to Dark Tears. It contains 5 single pieces and 5 suites.
In order to access The Instrumentalist, one must find a a music stand with a trumpet leaning against it.
The Instrumentalist alongside it's cousins were later introduced to other works, gaining new songs along the way.
The Instrumentalist is the only musical collection that didn't return in Time Monster, due to too file errors in the Combat Veterans not allowing it to work without severe bugs which can't be fixed and was cut from the final game. It is still credited in the credits at the end of the Campaign, alongside the other music pieces. The Instrumentalist was ultimately replaced by The Deceiver, which also contains instrumental pieces, most of which are from the game's soundtrack.

- While most of the other collections were unavailable due to a glitch, The Instrumentalist was never a part of it and was always available, which is odd.
