The Return of Ataraxia is the prologue map of the Call of Duty: Eclipse Warfare III Zombies saga, that was created by RoachTheIntelCollector. Like the other "prologue" maps, the map is only playable in solo. The player assumes the role of the villainous Ataraxia as he makes his ultimate return back to the Milky Way Galaxy not too long following the events of Day of Reckoning.

Story[]
Three days following the destruction of the Gauntlet of Ataraxia, Ataraxia himself was able to finally return to the Milky Way Galaxy by using the signal released by the gauntlet's destruction to work his way back. Ataraxia then crash-lands near a Galactic Council of Alliances facility on Mars, where he briefly expresses his grief over the loss of his powerful gauntlet. Noticing where he was, Ataraxia began to work his way to the nearby facility, sneaking past armed guards on patrol.
Eventually, Ataraxia is able to enter the facility and using his powers, is able to hack himself into the facility's power and security grid, where he discovers that the Galactic Council of Alliances was creating their own undead army with the use of the experimental Hybrillium, the same serum used to create The Hybrid and zombies back at Fort New Trinity. Armed with this knowledge, Ataraxia then releases all of the zombies that were finished and locked away, creating a massive outbreak at the facility. With this, Ataraxia is able to secure some Hybrillum samples by breaking into the labs.
While obtaining some samples, he is confronted by the head of the guards at the facility, who orders Ataraxia to stop. Ataraxia then tells him that he should stop before summoning several blades from the palm of his hand, quickly turning around and throwing them at the guard, pinning him to the wall and dropping his weapon. Ataraxia then confronts the man, informing him that the breach at the facility is merely the first step of his plan before leaving the room while laughing. As Ataraxia left the room, a group of zombies then enters the room from another door, who quickly target the helpless guard and brutally maul him to death before becoming a zombie himself. Ataraxia then hijacks a VTOL ship and then flies to an unknown location.
