The Thirteen was the collective gathering of the thirteen Roach Chronicles bosses present in the Boss Rush Tournament, united under one banner in an effort to combat the Heroes of Light and, unwillingly, assist the Grandmaster in his master plan.
Background[]
Boss Rush[]
As all of the members who would comprise the Thirteen were eliminated prior to the tournament, the Grandmaster made use of reflections, artificial bodies created by the combined powers of the Delphi Amphitheater and Prima Materia to temporarily resurrect all of the fallen villains by using their strong lingering thoughts while simultaneously binding them to his bidding.
Placing Master Ronin in charge of the organization, the Grandmaster would assign ranks to each member based on their prior history and skills. Once everything was ready, the Grandmaster unleashed the Thirteen, as well as various other villains he managed to assemble from across the multiverse, onto the Heroes of Light, seeking to forge a key from their battles, regardless of the outcome, that would unlock the artificial Sentinel Artifact binding him to Delphi.
One by one, each member of the Thirteen would fall in combat, each having a final moment to share their final thoughts to the heroes before fading away forever. Once the final member was eliminated, in conjunction with the other battles that partook outside of the Thirteen, the Grandmaster would finally forge the key and free himself from his prison.
The Final Chapter[]
While witnessing visions of what would've been his future as Xarcoh through the powers of No Name, Ignotus saw a memory vision of Xarcoh gathered with the other members of the Thirteen in a meeting prior to the start of the tournament, as well as rapid-fire glimpses of each of their eliminations, ending with Xarcoh's.

Eliminations[]
Over the course of the Boss Rush tournament, each member of the Thirteen would be eliminated in combat against the Heroes of Light, causing them to fade away and return to the dead. During their final moments, a dark essence would emerge from the defeated villain, signifying that they have created a piece of the Sentinel Key for the Grandmaster. The canonical order for their respective eliminations is as followed:
- XII. Edward Richtofen - Eliminated by Novus. Clenching his head, Richtofen cried out in agony as he fell to the ground, dropping his replica Yin Blade as it dematerialized. Looking up towards the heroes that defeated him, Richtofen lamented on what he had become, having finally been released from Gruntijackal's influence before fading away. He was the first member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- VIII. Nictis - Eliminated by Novus. Harboring no resentment to the heroes that bested him, Nictis instead thanked them, revealing that he was forcefully separated from his daughter Samantha in the afterlife to participate in the tournament. Before fading away to rejoin her, he apologized to the heroes for putting them through such a harrowing experience in the past. He was the second member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- XIII. Agent 14 - Eliminated by Vindicta. Pounding the ground in anger, Agent 14 berated Mac for foiling Unit Fourteen's plans and forcing him into his current situation. As Agent 14 faded away, Mac asked the deluded agent what he even wanted to use Prima Materia for; Agent 14 solemnly answered "freedom" before disappearing. He was the third member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- XI. Lextyr - Eliminated by Tyler "TJ" Jackson and the members of Amici minus Peterson. Having been staggered by the dark essence that emerged from him, Lextyr looked at his fading hands, remarking that this is what it felt to have emotions. Glancing at his complete self, Lextyr remarked that he pitied him for having to bear a soul. TJ told his Soulless self that it was only human to suffer from emotions, saying that while they may get in their way from time to time, he explained that it was what let them know that they were still human, no matter what they had become. Lextyr sighed with agitation before shedding a tear with a somber smile as he faded away. He was the fourth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- V. Echthroi - Eliminated by Alex "Rook" Miller, O'Ryan Bennett, Chris Bennett, and Tyler "TJ" Jackson. Weakened from his defeat, Echthroi fell to the ground, catching himself with his hands. Confronted by the very people that ruined his plan in the past, Echthroi bitterly questioned how the prophecy of Erebus had failed; Rook reprimanded the fallen foreteller that prophecies, while evidently written with the knowledge of their inevitability, never truly happen the way they are believed, saying that things can still be changed last minute. Responding with a chuckle, Echthroi cryptically remarked that the Grandmaster could challenge that claim before fading away. He was the fifth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- X. Yaxnor - Eliminated by O'Ryan Bennett and the members of Amici minus Gary. Overwhelmed by raw emotions after being given a soul by his reflection body like the other Soulless, excluding Xarcoh, in order to exist in the tournament as his own entity, Yaxnor became horrified by his inevitable fate and began breaking down mentally in front of his complete self, begging him to do something to save him. Knowing that there was nothing that could be done for him, O'Ryan somberly shook his head in denial and apologized to his Soulless splinter as Yaxnor faded away with a scream of anguish. He was the sixth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- IX. Xirsch - Eliminated by Chris Bennett and the members of Amici minus Doc. Watching as the dark essence that emerged from him vanished from sight, Xirsch remarked that he wasn't ready to go as he quietly teared up, knowing what was about to come. Chris comforted Xirsch, saying that the hardest part of life was accepting death with dignity. Letting out a sigh of disdain, Xirsch drove his Silverlight katana into the ground beside him. Collapsing before his complete self, Xirsch asked if he truly lived a life before fading away, his Silverlight following suit shortly afterward. He was the seventh member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- II. Gruntijackal - Eliminated by Novus. Weary from his defeat, Gruntijackal knelt down, breathing heavily. Daniela cautiously approached Gruntijackal, saying that deep down there was still a sliver of humanity within his soul, asking if he remembered what it felt like. Gruntijackal bitterly denied, saying that all he felt was an unending lust for power and a turmoil of negativity, having been driven mad by it and losing all sense of purpose for his existence. Growling in anger, Gruntijackal turned to face the Grandmaster overhead, cursing him for dictating their fates before fading away. He was the eighth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- IV. Erebus - Eliminated by Alex "Rook" Miller, O'Ryan Bennett, Chris Bennett, and Tyler "TJ" Jackson. Seeing what he had been reduced to, Erebus remarked that he had become a mere pawn waiting to be sacrificed for the bigger play. Erebus lamented that he was destined for greatness as a ruler of darkness, but now he was to forever fade into it. With that, Erebus faded away, fulfilling his words. He was the ninth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- VII. Gigabyte - Eliminated by Alex "Rook" Miller, O'Ryan Bennett, Chris Bennett, and Tyler "TJ" Jackson. Severely damaged from his defeat, Gigabyte could barely hold himself together as he looked on toward the heroes that bested him. Gigabyte explained that his existence was a paradox, questioning if he was considered to be human if all that was left of his physicality was metal and wires, or if he was considered to be robotic if he still harbored human emotions deep within him that allowed him to feel as if he was fully human. When asked by TJ what be believed he was, Gigabyte paused, responding with an ominous "neither" before fading away. He was the tenth member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- VI. Xarcoh - Eliminated by Roach, Mackenzie "Mac" Davis, Samuel Higgins, and Daniela Knight. Falling to his hands and knees, Xarcoh watched as he slowly faded away before standing back up to face his complete self. Xarcoh would lament his fate to forever fade away as a dark copy of Roach, unable to truly choose his fate. Roach assured Xarcoh that he did have a choice, but Xarcoh suggested otherwise. Before finally fading out completely, Xarcoh commended Roach for his role as a hero of light. He was the eleventh member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- III. Omnitron - Eliminated by Roach, O'Ryan Bennett, Chris Bennett, and Tyler "TJ" Jackson. Bitter by his defeat at the hands of humans, Omnitron spieled that he was built to save the world from a greater evil: the very species that built him. Before fading out entirely, Omnitron told the heroes that in time, he would be proven right, claiming that it was only a matter of time before humanity found a way to completely destroy themselves without the means of providing another species a way to learn from humanity's mistakes and live on in their stead as successors. He was the twelfth and penultimate member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
- I. Master Ronin - Eliminated by Mackenzie "Mac" Davis, Alain Bourden, Samuel Higgins, and Evan Jones. Whilst glaring towards the Grandmaster following his defeat, Ronin admitted to the heroes that he had succumbed to the corruptive nature of the concept of power, which had blinded him into going down a path of villainy against those who were innocent and sought to live their lives their own way. Having seen the errors of his past in a new light, Ronin apologized to those he caused suffering to, forewarning them of the threat the Grandmaster posed should he free himself before peacefully fading away for the final time. He was the thirteenth and final member of the Thirteen to be eliminated.
