Ignotus' Campaign[]
While seeking out a way to lure Roach into his rip timeline in order to steal his Dark Creation-imbued Harbinger, Ignotus used No Name to learn of creatures known as the Unversed, which were physical manifestations of powerful negative thoughts and emotions from strong-willed souls with great ties to darkness. Knowing he has a powerful enough soul to conjure the Unversed, Ignotus tapped into his soul to form negative powers to generate an army of Unversed. Ignotus then sent the Unversed into the Nexus, where they would begin leaking into other universes and realms within.
As part of Ignotus' plan, the Unversed and their assault on various universes would serve as a means of gaining the attention of The Son, who would undoubtedly recruit heroes such as Umbra Ops to combat this grave threat. Ignotus soon ventured to the Graveyard of the Ancients within his rip timeline, where he would await the arrival of the heroes by creating a massive stone labyrinth within the desert in the meantime. Once the heroes arrived to confront Ignotus after crossing the Realm Between and dealing with various Unversed, including the Dark Hide, within, Ignotus revealed himself to be their conjurer and summoned more Unversed to attack the heroes, hoping to weaken them enough to gain an upperhand.
The heroes managed to fight through Ignotus' forces within the labyrinth, and after defeating the Iron Imprisoner at the end of the maze, Ignotus attacked the heroes, seizing Roach's Harbinger in the chaos. Using the graveyard's mystical powers, Ignotus materialized the Seal of the Nexus and used the Harbinger to break the seal, enabling him to gain full control of the dimension and alter it to his liking. However, the heroes eventually recooperated and ventured into the Nexus to stop Ignotus once and for all, fighting more Unversed in the process. Eventually, Ignotus was cornered atop his cathedral in his realm within the Nexus by the heroes after they defeated the Trinity Armor, forcing him to summon more Unversed. However, Ignotus soon absorbed them once they formed to fuse into a monstrous Unversed called the Dark Angel.
After the heroes defeated the Dark Angel, Ignotus was released from the fusion, though the process ultimately stripped him of the darkness within his soul, leaving him unable to summon any more Unversed and forcing him to use his own powers to fight the heroes.[1]

- The Unversed are derived from the same enemy type featured in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and Kingdom Hearts III.
- The Dark Hide is the only Unversed that is not an actual Unversed in the Kingdom Hearts series, rather it is a Heartless.
