The Winter's Howl appears in the latter three maps of the A Universe Splintered storyline. As 70 years have passed, the weapon is finally complete after a quick overhaul by Ebon Shadowshot. It is now fully charged at all times, so it won't just slow Zombies down. Upon being frozen, Zombies that are shot will explode, the shrapnel being lethal. While unusable until Elemental Ascendance, it appears in the last three maps in the storyline.

In Fortune's End, it is the weapon of choice by Crystal during the gun phase, whilst Amber will use the Ray Gun. Crystal is incredibly accurate and will fire it in a quick three shot burst, and being hit by it will entomb the player in a block of ice which must be hit by a wonder weapon to destroy. During the boss fight with Tyrone King, Crystal will make a combo weapon out of the Winter's Howl and her Katana, which she'll use to freeze Zombies which climb up on stage.

Trivia

• If Crystal or Amber are accidentally killed, the Winter's Howl can be seen on the floor behind Crystal (or her dead body), during their death scene.
• When Crystal performs the crotch stomp on Chuck or Sullivan, she will say "What, can't handle my grandpa's toys?", as Peter Bailey was the twin's grandfather.
